Then it will be hard for you to determine the age of the car. Therefore, before buying a car you should ask for the detailed records of the car’s history. Mileage will give you an indication of the distance the car has traveled. It will not give you the conditions in which the car has traveled. Car that was used mostly for highway travel is considered less damaged than those used in cities. In highway the sudden braking and accelerations that are there in the cities, are absent, so the damage to the car engine is supposed to be less. The climate the car had driven through has also to be accounted for. If the car has been through freezing conditions, then you can take into account the cold starts, road salt that might have damaged the car’s engine to a large extent. Take the VIN of the car and research it. A mechanic will be able to tell you the story under the bonnet. When you buy a car you should take all these factors into consideration.
